Unicompartmental Arthroplasty

If a joint has more than one compartment and only one compartment is damaged, then only in that compartment both surfaces can be replaced. That allows keeping undamaged compartments’ surfaces intact. This procedure is most employed in treatment of isolated one compartment arthritis of the knee joint.
