Featuring competitions in Track & Field, Archery, Weightlifting and Marksman (sanctioned by the NRA).
Open to athletes of all ages with physical disabilities.
The CAMC Medical Rehabilitation Center sponsors Challenged Sports, which is the state’s only sanctioned sports program for individuals of all ages with physical disabilities.
“Our mission is to not only offer sports as a therapeutic intervention, but also as a means to promote a lifetime investment in one’s health and well- being,” said Jeremiah Gagnon, program director. “We strive to achieve this by offering a program where physically challenged individuals can explore sports for the first time or continue pursuing sports of interest to their greatest potential despite their limitations.”
Athletes from around the country participate in the annual West Virginia Challenged Sports Championships for the opportunity to move on to national competitions.
