Polly Kidd and Stephanie Thaxton, human resources, were recognized for researching a program for CAMC to help its own employees who are experiencing financial hardship during the holidays.
"Heart of the Holidays" was a huge success.
The program allowed individuals or departments to help other CAMC employees who are in need during the holidays.
In its inaugural year, 67 CAMC families (with a total of 215 people) had a brighter Christmas because of the care and compassion offered by our very own employees.
Kidd and Thaxton spent a lot of hours and behind-the-scenes work to make this happen. They communicated the program to the workforce, secured storage for the collected gifts and food, ensured confidentiality of the recipients and then helped hand everything out.
When many of the recipients saw the gifts and food baskets, they were reduced to tears.
