Frederick C. Martinez, MD, FACS, is a graduate of Stanford University, Stanford, California. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine where he also completed his general surgery training. He completed his residency in urology at Stanford University under the leadership of Dr. Thomas A. Stamey, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology.
Dr. Martinez, having previously served as Chairman for the Department of Urology at Charleston Area Medical Center, is currently the Vice Chairman of the Department of Urology at CAMC.
Dr. Martinez is an active member of numerous professional/medical societies, including the American Urologic Association and the American College of Surgeons. He is a council member for the West Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
His major professional interests are the diagnosis and management of urologic cancers, urinary tract infections, surgical and medical management of stone disease, and genitourinary trauma. In addition to his duties as attending urologist at CAMC, he is a faculty member for the urology residency program at CAMC.
A native of northern California, Dr. Martinez is an avid golfer who also enjoys traveling. He lives in Huntington with his wife, Pat, and their two dogs.
