Medical Telemetry/Renal/Urology (3 South)

 
3 South is a multidisciplinary medical surgical unit with monitoring capabilities for 12 beds. 3 South is the primary nursing unit for renal transplant surgery patients and living donors.
Specialty: All medical and surgical conditions with a specialty focus on cardiac (heart), renal (kidney), and urinary tract conditions.
Capacity: 14 beds
Staff: RN (registered nurses), LPN (licensed practical nurses), NE (nurse externs, which are nursing students), NA (nursing assistants), and HUC (health unit coordinators, which are clerical staff that provide heart monitoring)
Care focus: Team care approach. Our focus is to provide excellent care so our patients can achieve their optimum level of health and independence.
Patient type: Adults with varying degrees of illness from uncomplicated to sub-critical: adult medical telemetry, medical patients and any patient requiring cardiac monitoring
