Comprehensive care for children with blood diseases and cancer is offered at CAMC Women and Children's Hospital. New patients are seen through provider referrals. Services include inpatient care, outpatient care in CAMC Children’s Center and outpatient visits at WVU Physicians of Charleston Pediatric Department offices.
Comprehensive care is provided to our patients by a team which includes two pediatric hematology/oncology physicians, one pediatric hematology/oncology nurse practitioner who is also a certified pediatric oncology nurse, infusion center nurse certified in pediatric oncology, psychologist, chaplain, child life therapist, dietitian, social worker, physical therapist and two pharmacists.
CAMC-WVU Charleston is the only Children's Oncology Group full-member institution in WV and enrolls patients in national pediatric cancer studies. We have a long-term follow-up program which includes anyone treated before the age of 21 for a childhood cancer. This program encompasses both adult and pediatric survivors of childhood cancer.
