Perinatal Center
Obstetric ultrasounds are the first images parents will see of their baby before an obstetrician hands him to them after delivery. The perinatal center, located on the first floor of Women and Children's Hospital, is the place to have a baby evaluated by specially-trained physicians. Perinatologists are trained to evaluate a baby's development to make sure everything is going according to plan and are trained to manage specific cases in which a woman is experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. They see patients in their clinics located just inside the center (a referral from an OB/GYN is required). For questions, or to schedule an ultrasound, call (304) 388-2375.
