Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)

 
The pediatric intensive/transitional care unit (PICU/PTCU) provides constant intensive and transitional care, monitoring and observation to critically ill children with medical/surgical problems. A team of health care personnel provides services with special interest and education in the management of critically ill children.
Specialty: Neonates through 17 years of age
Capacity: 10 patient beds; can be a combination of ICU and transitional care beds
Staff: Registered nurses, nurse externs, health unit coordinators
Care focus: Family-centered patient care
