The medical imaging department at CAMC Women and Children's Hospital includes state-of-the-art radiography and fluoroscopy rooms offering digital imaging with multiple capabilities. The computed tomography (CT) department is equipped with a multi-slice CT scanner. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) department offers a large bore unit that caters to pediatric and claustraphobic patients. Our perinatal center specializes in high-risk obstetrics utilizing advanced 4D imaging for early diagnosis of fetal abnormalities. A highly skilled team of doctors, technologists, registered nurses and assistants work together to ensure the best patient experience.
Women and Children's Hospital features an ambient CT suite that creates a patient-friendly, non-clinical atmosphere for scanning. The ambient suite is specially designed with curved walls for projecting images and recessed lighting, providing a soothing,movie theatre-like experience without glasses or headphones. The patient chooses the room theme before the scan starts, using a special control pad. This interaction between patient and equipment is designed to make people more relaxed and move their attention away from any anxiety caused by the impending procedure.
