Companies within the CAMC Health System give to the community because they understand the impact that exceptional medical care, charity care, education, corporate contributions and community partnerships have on the lives of people.
In West Virginia, CAMC is the largest provider of uncompensated care, largest Medicaid provider, the primary medical safety net provider of women's, children's and trauma services and the only major teaching hospital in central and southern West Virginia.
Certain clinical programs are provided despite a financial loss because they meet identified community needs and if no longer offered, they would be either unavailable in the area or fall to the responsibility of the government or other not-for-profit organization to provide.
The Civic Affairs Council is comprised of employees who meet quarterly to review applications for charitable donations. It provides financial support to programs and services in our service area with health related priorities. Download an application
