Dr. Alexander Rosenstein
Alexander D. Rosenstein, MD, is the Director of Reconstructive and Orthopedic Surgery at CAMC. He specializes in adult hip and knee, joint preservation, joint replacement and revision surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology, Dr. Rosenstein received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He was then awarded the Girdlestone Scholarship and completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at Oxford University in England.
Dr. Rosenstein served as Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of Adult Reconstruction Division at the University of Texas Medical School Houston and Adjoint Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas Austin. He has held academic positions of Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California Irvine and Associate Professor of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He has also served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Medical Staff at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, California.
Dr. Rosenstein holds US and Canadian patents and an FDA approval for implant designs used for joint reconstruction. He has presented numerous papers at national and international peer-reviewed meetings. He also has served as the invited speaker and visiting professor for various medical presentations in the United States and abroad, including Spain, South Africa, China and Ukraine. Dr. Rosenstein participated in research, presented and published articles on a wide variety of joint reconstruction topics recently, including Differences in Distal Femur Dimensions between Men and Women in Relation to Femoral Component Sizing in Total Knee Replacement.
