James P. Tierney, DO, is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He is the Chairman and Program Director of Urology at CAMC. He is also the Medical Director of CAMC Physicians Group. He is a graduate of WVU/CAMC where he completed his general surgery, and the University of Pittsburgh where he did his urologic surgery training.
Dr. Tierney served as President of Urologic Surgical Associates from 1987-2009.
Dr. Tierney’s major areas of involvement are cancer, treatment for urologic cancers, robotic surgery for prostate cancer, robotic surgery for kidney cancer and kidney reconstruction, the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence for men and women, kidney stone treatment and prevention, and vasectomy and vasectomy reversal.
Dr. Tierney was recognized by The Journal of Urology for surgical research on 1st hand assist laparoscopic kidney surgery. At CAMC, he was involved in establishing Surgicare in 1992, robotic surgery, a urodynamics lab and a urologic surgery residency.
