Managing Side Effects of Radiation Therapy

Understanding Radiation Therapy

Radiologic Oncology logo

Radiation oncology (also referred to as radiation therapy) is the treatment of cancer with radiation. Radiation kills cancer cells by preventing them from multiplying, thus helping cure or control cancer, or to alleviate some of the symptoms associated with cancer.

CAMC has partnered with Alliance Oncology (AO), one of the nation’s leading providers of radiation therapy services. Through our partnership, CAMC Radiation Oncology Services is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies that provide our patients with a full range of comprehensive radiation treatment options.

We are staffed with five board-certified physicians who are armed with decades of clinical research and experience. Together, CAMC and Alliance Oncology’s partnership enables us to set a new standard for cancer care and improved clinical outcomes for the people in our community.
