CAMC is partnering with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation to grow and expand CAMC’s rehabilitation services.
Mary Free Bed is a non-profit industry leader in inpatient rehabilitation services. In addition to its own award-winning rehabilitation hospital, Mary Free Bed works with over 50 hospital partners to enhance clinical expertise and patient experience.
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Mary Free Bed will manage the inpatient rehabilitation operations located at CAMC General Hospital. CAMC has had an outstanding rehabilitation program for many years. The program has been an adjunct to our acute-care mission.
In addition to managing inpatient rehabilitation services, the team at Mary Free Bed will contribute their extensive experience to the design and building of a new 50-bed state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital on the old Boll Medical property, which will be connected to General Hospital by a walkway across Washington Steet. This future facility will house an expanded inpatient rehabilitation unit managed by Mary Free Bed, in partnership with CAMC. Mary Free Bed will also manage the outpatient rehabilitation services at CAMC. The current employees of CAMC’s rehabilitation program will remain CAMC employees, while Mary Free Bed will provide the management team.
