Adam Crawford, DO, MBA, FACEP, Department Chair and Chief of Emergency Medicine, and Megan Farmer, AuD, CCC-A, have been selected as The State Journal’s Generation Next 40 Under 40 honorees for 2024.
The State Journal’s Generation Next: 40 Under 40 aims to recognize outstanding young professionals in West Virginia that serve their communities to make the state a better place to live, raise families and work.
Since 2016, Dr. Crawford has been an integral part of CAMC. He served as the Medical Director for the Emergency Department at CAMC General Hospital from 2017 to 2023 and became Chief of Emergency Medicine in 2018. Dr. Crawford manages and staffs four of CAMC’s emergency departments, as well as Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and Plateau Medical Center. Alongside that, he has led several initiatives to improve the quality of care delivered by CAMC’s emergency departments.
“I can’t express how much I appreciate this recognition and how honored I am,” Crawford said.
In addition to his work, Dr. Crawford has been the President of the WV Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and has served as a counselor to the National ACEP since 2020. Recently, Dr. Crawford was appointed as the lead physician for USA Cycling’s Pro Road National Championship in Charleston.
Farmer joined CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital in 2023 as the first full-time Audiologist. Despite her short time at CAMC, Farmer has revolutionized patient care by introducing same-day
audiological testing and treatment services that were previously unavailable. She is dedicated to making a difference in pediatrics, aiming to improve language development and educational
outcomes for children with hearing impairments.
“I am humbled by this recognition and grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for helping people with hearing loss,” Farmer said.
When Farmer isn’t working, she is investing her time and expertise in initiatives and programs related to children’s education. She believes that a well-rounded education contributes to shaping
the future generations.
