A patient recently spent several weeks at Memorial Hospital undergoing treatment for throat cancer. She had burns on her neck due to the radiation, which she was very self-conscious about.
The patient took brief walks around the hospital during her stay, and some of those walks led her to the cafeteria where she met cook, Becky Robinson.
Robinson developed a friendship with the patient and learned about her being embarrassed by her neck.
Robinson mentioned at church that she was looking for a cross necklace, and a friend gave her one to give the patient. Robinson kept it in her pocket every day until she saw the patient again and gave her the cross, which she was very thankful for and greatly appreciated.
