The Everyday Excellence Heart and Soul award recognizes those who model professionalism, are constantly reliable and consistently provide high quality results and service to customers.
Dale Kennedy is a patient transporter at Memorial Hospital who has been a force for cultural change at CAMC.
Kennedy recently broke the record for most patient transports in a month - 496. He picked up multiple shifts when the day shift team was short staffed. While performing at a high level, he makes patient interaction a wonderful experience.
Kennedy connected with a patient from 4-West who was declining in health. The patient and the family were so thankful for his kindness and communication that they invited him to the bedside when she was ultimately transferred to Hospice, and was then invited to the services for the patient.
Kennedy regularly comes in before his shift starts and visits patients on the Select Specialty unit, brining gifts of snacks if their diet permits. He also volunteers for the Employee Activity Committee, which recently make him responsible for delivering 800 pepperoni rolls from the kitchen to staff at Memorial Hospital.
