Madison Clark works on 5 South at General Hospital.
She recently cared for a patient who had a life-changing injury that required a lengthy stay in the hospital.
The patient could no longer walk and was confined to his bed. After being hospitalized for about seven weeks, the patient found out his dog had died that morning. He was upset and sad.
Clark offered to take the patient to the solarium so he could sit in the sun and not be confined in his room for a little while. He loved it and said it felt good to sit in the sun and look out at the Capitol dome.
The patient was used to spending time outside before his injury, and Madison stepped outside of her usual daily routine so he could have a better day.
