Morgan Kincaid is a health unit coordinator 2 for the surgical vascular intermediate care unit at Memorial Hospital. Kincaid's actions prove that sometimes the simplest gestures can have big results.
A patient on the unit had been upset, crying and yelling out for help. When Kincaid checked on him he was tearful, lonely and missing his cats. Kincaid left and went straight to the gift shop and purchased him a toy cat that purrs when you touch it and looks like a real cat. She gave it to the patient, and he was overcome with joy. Staff said anytime they passed his room he could be seen petting and talking to his cat. He no longer yelled into the hallway for help.
Kincaid brought joy and comfort to this patient with a simple act of kindness.
