Nathan Vassey is a Physical Therapist.
Memorial Hospital had a patient for an extended length of time and required an extensive amount of rehab after discharge.
Vassey worked with this patient daily, sometimes six days a week, to help him progress physically. He also spent countless hours with the patient’s wife helping her work with the insurance company so the patient could get the appropriate care once discharged.
Vassey contributed to weekly meetings with case management, nursing and hospital leadership to ensure that the patient had the best possible discharge plan, many times staying well past his shift to work on paperwork with the patient’s wife.
Discharge to the rehab facility happened on a weekend, but Vassey still came in to ensure everything was up to date on the discharge process for this patient.
