On July 17, a car drove into the Sleep Center building in Ripley.

When this happened, the staff jumped into action calling 911 and keeping everyone safe until EMS arrived.

When the car hit the building, it went through one exam room and into the next room trapping patients and an employee.

While trapped, Sue Ellen McAtee held a TV that was loosened from the wall above her head to keep it from falling onto a patient with her.

The rest of the team helped other patients out of the building to assure they were able to get out safely.

Kari Friend drove to the building and helped Dianna Springer and the team assess the situation. They contacted the correct people who could help ensure the building was safe and what needed to happen next.

She also has gone above and beyond to continue to follow up with the staff and check on them on a regular basis.

Kayla Curry, Brandy Sommerville and the rest of the team have been in constant contact with the patients who were sent to the hospital and followed their recovery.
