Plateau Medical Center has received five-star ratings for patient recommendations, nurse communication and physician communication categories and for staff responsiveness by Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data from CMS.
HCAHPS star ratings based on publicly reported measures:
- The recommended hospital star rating is based on patients' responses to the question, "Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?"
- The nurse and physician communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how well patients feel that their nurses and physicians explained things clearly, listened carefully to them and treated them with courtesy and respect.
- The staff responsiveness star rating combines data from two HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how quickly patients felt they received help after pressing the call button or asking for help to use the restroom or a bedpan.
