April Misner is an admitting clerk at Teays Valley Hospital.
Misner’s manager regularly receives compliments about how she goes above and beyond to assist patients. A recent example is how she connected with a patient who was at the hospital for testing.
During registration, the patient noticed gnomes all around Misner’s cubicle. The patient also loved gnomes and collected them, particularly yellow and blue ones, with her son who had passed away.
Misner continued to talk about gnomes and the patient’s son as she finished the registration process.
As the patient left for her testing, Misner gave her a yellow gnome from her shelf. They both had tears in their eyes.
The patient was so thankful for this act of kindness from someone she’d just met.
