Christie Frame and Gretchen Myers work in the open heart recovery unit; however, they are being recognized for their help with another unit.
The cardiopulmonary ICU had several patients who needed to be started on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and the dialysis unit was overwhelmed. Frame and Myers both spent hours with CPICU setting up and restarting patients on CRRT, which helped the dialysis nurse as well as CPICU patients and nurses tremendously.
“This was the epitome of team nursing and of living our mission statement,” wrote the charge nurse who nominated them. “They never complain about the work they perform, and they always tell us how they pray for us in the COVID ICU.”
