Leon Kwei, MD, has been an emergency medicine physician at CAMC for several years.
He was nominated by a patient he cared for in May.
Kwei was at a restaurant where the patient fell sustaining an injury. He provided help at the restaurant and followed through with assistance at the Memorial Hospital ER after the incident.
The patient was very appreciative.
This is not unusual for Kwei who is seen by his colleagues as one of the “bedrock physicians” at the Memorial Hospital ER. He is known for being a staunch and steadfast patient advocate and for treating every patient as if they were a member of his family.
