The emergency room at Memorial Hospital recently cared for a patient who was very ill.
The main goal for this patient was to allow her pregnant daughter to see her before she passed away. The daughter was two hours away. Thanks to Dr. Amy Hunt, Kennedy Fluharty, RN; Olivia Persinger, RN; James Nance, RN; Tawny Long, RN and Jill Miller, RN, the patient’s goal was achieved.
They did not leave the patient’s side for two hours and had to resuscitate her several times. Once the daughter arrived, Miller prayed with her and the rest of the family.
The family said Miller’s prayer gave them peace with their decision to withdraw care.
Not only did the staff provide excellent, highly-skilled care, they also brought comfort to the family in their time of need.
