Tammie Hager works in IT and recently assisted the laboratory in addressing regulatory deficiencies in the pathology reports discovered during our most recent accreditation inspection.
What initially seemed to be simple adjustments ended up taking some creativity due to electronic medical records application limitations.
There was a time crunch of 30 days to provide a response to the deficiencies, and Hager delivered. She orchestrated quick, collaborative and creative efforts with pathologists to review possible fixes that could be implemented in the necessary timeframe.
These efforts pulled her away from other items, which didn’t go unnoticed. Without these efforts, the lab would not be able to function.
Hager is continually looking for ways to improve the system in ways that help the lab provide the best care for patients through improved communication with providers.
