Sarah McClanahan was recognized with the Shining Star Award for Excellence in Infection Control and Prevention. The award from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) West Virginia recognizes members who share their time and talent with others unselfishly, perform exemplary work and promote the field of infection prevention and control. McClanahan has served on the board of directors and president of APIC, West Virginia. She volunteers to teach education sessions at chapter meetings and has even presented at the National APIC Conference. She also has coordinated multiple vaccination clinics to ensure our employees and our community are safe and healthy.
